“I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Luke 7:28

Dear Father God,

Thank You for the gift of Your messenger, John the Baptist, who prepared the way for our Savior and Lord, Jesus, by emphatically telling us of the need to repent by word and action.

Thank You for the large number of people who heeded that message. Thank You for the history lesson of those who did not because of ego and pride. The same people who refused to believe in Jesus. The same reasons people choose not to believe or surrender today.

Dear Father God, release me from my ego and pride so that I can fully repent. Create in me a clean heart in this Holy season as my Lord Jesus begins His walk to the cross. Amen.
