“But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

Dear Father God,

Thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your Only Begotten Son as the great sacrifice, the final blood offering, our eternal Redeemer; broken for our sins.

Thank You for loving the wretch like me, Your patience in our disobedience, and unwillingness to accept Your assignments, thinking foolishly that we know best.

Forgive how I continue to crucify Jesus daily with my ego, pride, lack of faith, lack of hope, lack of trust to surrender it all to You as You surrendered all for us; Your Only Son.

Thank You for the example of the faith of Abraham to trust You fully with his only son, Isaac, and the trust of Jesus in You as He knew and could easily see Mount Moriah as He taught His disciples on the mount of olives. I am sure He often thought of the day when Abraham took Isaac there as a sacrifice, knowing that those in the temple would cause His demise, the temple built in that spot and Your disgust with that event, shown by today as a mosque sits in its place.

Forgive us, Father God, as we have many iniquities. Forgive us in Jesus’ name. Amen.
