“After eight days had passed, it was time to circumcise the child; and he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.” Luke 2:21

Thank You for being the Word made flesh, Lord Jesus, the light in our darkness here on earth, our Immanuel.

Thank You for humbling Yourself to come for us in our humanity in the most spartan of conditions, knowing how all of this would end: You being despised, humiliated, spat upon, beaten beyond human form, pierced, and nailed to a cross; Your gift for loving us so much; saving us from our sins; and granting us life eternal.

Thank You for knowing me in the womb, leading me on a path, making straight the path, on a journey to Your likeness.

Lord Jesus, thank You, and amen.
