Dear Jesus, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, loving God,

Thank You for what You do for us every day. Forgive our taunts, the iron nails we drive into Your hands and feet daily, our disobedience and pride. Forgive us that we make You carry that cross again daily because we love the world more than You.

Forgive us that each time we accept a lie of Satan, we put another dagger into Your side, once again piercing You and making You pour out Your blood.

The cries of torment are loud and plentiful. Grant that I always accept Your outstretched hand to lead me through the valley of death.  Grant that every day, I strip myself of ego and pride so that Your spirit can work in me. Make me a renewed soul transformed into Your likeness, Lord Jesus, Amen.
