“See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight—indeed, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 3:1
Dear Lord of Hosts, Creator of all,
We praise You and are so thankful for the powerful messengers that You send to announce Christ, and Your will; starting with all of Your early prophets, to the greatest of those born of a woman in John the Baptizer, to those You anoint today and fill with the Holy Spirit to passionately share Your voice in this world of darkness, true darkness, ruled by the evil one.
Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your light, the light of the world, the only light in this dark and evil world, Jesus, a star out of Judah, born in the humblest of situations possible by parents likely looked down upon by others and belittled as the wedding feast had not yet occurred – in Nazareth of all places, where nothing good came from.
Thank You for how You use the broken, the old wineskins, those who are unqualified, and make them qualified – even as they are belittled and scorned in today’s darkness because the light of the Holy Spirit resides inside them, making them easy to see and cast stones at from afar.
Thank You for making darkness afraid of light. Thank You for Your messengers, a growing force, voices in the desert.
Thank You for bringing Your Son to us, to the temple, replacing the temple, forever cleansed by His blood, made white, as we were lost but now are found.
Thank You, Father; thank You, Holy Spirit; thank You, Jesus. Thank You. Amen.
