Dear Lord Jesus,

Forgive our love of money, greed, ego, pride, and worldly pleasure - all provided by Satan. Have mercy on us for our relentless pursuit of Satan’s offerings. 

Have mercy on us for only calling on You when we need something in the world. Have mercy on us.

Have mercy on us for relying on our own understanding. Have mercy on us for acknowledging ourselves. Have mercy on us for only thanking ourselves for our smart efforts.

Have mercy on us for worldly distractions that keep us separated from You.

Have mercy on me, a worthless sinner whose only value is as a child of God, the Most High, for His pleasure, to serve and bless, and to follow His word.

Have mercy on me, Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, Amen.
