Dear Jesus,
We are so broken. We’d rather accept 30 pieces of silver than surrender our obedience, even if that means crucifying You, whether that was 2,000 years ago or 20 seconds ago.
We are so broken. We ask for a sign. Even when You deliver a sign, our faith is so lacking that it doesn’t matter.
We are so broken. We’d rather have our foundation on shifting sands than on the solid, firm rock of God’s Word.
We are so broken that we think we know more than You and that friendship with the world is something to be admired.
We are so broken that we think moral standing is equivalent to wealth or political power.
We are so broken that we’d rather have anyone who might favor You imprisoned.
We are so broken. Grant that I surrender my will to You so that You can begin to fix me and grow me into Your image.
Amen.
