Dear Father God,

Thank You for sending Your servant John to prepare the way for the Lord.

Thank You for showing us what can be achieved through the Holy Spirit in service to You.

Thank You for the example of John, who spoke boldly in proclaiming our Lord.

Thank You for the example of John that we are all in need of repentance.

Grant that more of us accept our calling to support the body of Christ.

Send Your Spirit to work in me as Your empty vessel to proclaim my Savior and Lord, Jesus, in whose name this prayer is made. Amen.
