Dear Jesus,

Thank You for the miracles You perform. Thank You for how You gave authority to Your apostles to go out two by two and cure the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, and cleanse lepers, proclaiming the good news, that the kingdom of Heaven is near.

Thank You for the reminder that not all will believe and that there will be persecution.

Thank You for establishing Your Apostolic church to change the world. Thank You for the fervor and perseverance that the Spirit gave the Apostles to do Your will. Thank You for the power the Spirit gave them to establish Your church, and the breaking of bread, Your body, the Bread of Life.

Forgive our lack of belief, our lack of faith, how we want things our own way,  how we think we know better than You, twisting Your words, believing only the ones that we find agreeable and easy, fighting Your church, listening to the world and wanting friendship with it.

Help us daily, Amen.
