“When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.” 1 Peter 2:23
Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of all,
Thank You for always being in control. Forgive our foolish attempts at lashing out, worshipping mortals, worshipping false idols, trying to cause division; all of which mock You. Forgive our childish behavior and our placing our trust in the ruler of the world rather than in You.
Forgive our lack of surrender and recognition of the spiritual battle that plagues us.
Thank You for the example of Jesus, who did not return abuse when He was abused; who did not threaten when He suffered; who bore our sins on the cross, and by His wounds we have been healed.
Grant that we no longer go astray but follow the Good Shepherd, Jesus the Christ, in whose name this prayer is offered.
