Dear Father God,

Thank You for creating me for a time such as this. Remove my stumbling blocks so that I set my mind only on Your divine will.

Grant that I willingly deny myself and take up my cross and follow You.  Grant that I give up my former life so that I can live anew, reborn in Your spirit so that when You reveal Yourself to me, I have eyes that see it, a soul that perceives it, and a heart that does not deny it, or pride that takes credit for it.  Worse yet, apply my human understanding to limit Your power and sovereignty and amplify my ego and disobedience.

Forgive my lukewarmness and half-surrender. Forgive my worship of the world and Satan's false promises and twisted words.

You are the only way, the only truth, the light shining in the darkness. Send Your spirit, Jesus, take my hand. Amen.
