“Herod had James, the brother of John, killed with the sword.” Acts 12:2

Dear God,

We praise You and thank You for the challenges that we endure, for this endurance produces hope, and hope does not disappoint.

Grant us the reminder that before we ask for anything, we ask to be forgiven of our sins, to change our ways, to mend our souls, to soften our hearts.

Thank You for every opportunity that You offer us to glorify You.

Thank You for every opportunity that You offer to trust in You fully.

Grant that I honor You today with my effort, utilizing all the talents that You have bestowed upon me.

Grant that I reach for the outstretched hand of Jesus when I am feeling weak, in whom this prayer is offered.

Amen.
